Ecological Study of Juvenile Delinquents


Abstract
The present study is planned to summarize the more advanced ideas through enlargement & revision of the conclusions obtained previously from the original article, "Socio psychiatric studies on the Junvenile delinquency among Korean", which was reported at 1970.
Objects of 68 male juveniles were studied, who were under confinement in "Seoul Provincial Correctional Institute for Juvenile Delinquents" at the end of Sept. in 1976. The data recognized to be eligible for the study were collected by follow-up study c special emphasis upon the main theme: The specially framed socio-environmental structure, attitude and correlativity of their related factors.
Psychiatric considerations were given upon the sex, age, schooling, status of health, character patterns, incidence patterns, time of onset, duration of treatment, present status, past career, parent-child relationship and their attitudes.
Though 6 yrs¢¥ follow-up study, it might be concluded that intrafamilial conflicts and their destructive relationship, parental attitudes in bringing up their children play an remarkably important role in precipitating delinquency in this society.
And in regard further study might be indispensable.
